  • This album contains all of Tatsuro's hits on the Niagara label, all of them from before or just around his breakout solo career began in 1976. Seven songs (six of which make up the entirety of side B) are from Sugar Babe's 1975 classic (and only) album "Songs" (Tatsuro fans might also note Taeko Ohnuki's contributions on that one). The other five songs are from the first of two albums by Niagara Triangle (the second to be released two years after this compilation), titled "Niagara Triangle Vol. 1", all of which are on side A. As a compilation, this is fairly lazily-done, but given that this is pretty much everything Tatsuro ever did on Niagara, you can't complain much. In any case, although hardcore Tatsuro fans have already heard this stuff ages ago, people just getting into him and wanting to know what some of his pre-solo stuff sounded like might be interested in this compilation (though I would just recommend listening to the entirety of "Songs" and "Niagara Triangle Vol. 1" instead, since it's literally everything that's on this record and then some).
