  • I wish they released this EP on vinyl. Finding You is Grant's masterpiece. It is probably the most achingly beautiful song the Go-Betweens ever recorded and their are many contenders for that title. The evocative opening lines are pure Go-Betweens: "What would you do if you turned around / And saw me beside you / Not in a dream but in a song?" It affects me every time i hear it and i just want to listen to it over and over again. If you love this song as i do i'd encourage you to get a copy of That Striped Sunlight Sound which has a great live version recorded in Brisbane, 2005, but also on the DVD there is a segment entitled Acoustic Stories which features just Robert & Grant talking about the band and playing selected songs acoustically. The final number they play together is a sublime version of Finding You. Songs this great are a reminder of the tragic loss of Grant McLennan only one year later. I respected Robert's decision to end the band immediately as their could be no Go-Betweens without Grant. -
